Snapshots from hell

Finally,

I spent some time reading Snapshots from Hell...

Its been a long book .. Though 286 pages only (and i have not reached the end yet) i took long to read it ... I was getting bored by the over-technical and over-MBA_curriculum type chapters... This book introduced me to the subjects that are ( were ?? ) taught in Stanford when the author studied there but some subjects were elastically elongated and I felt like i am already there studying the subjects..

The best dialogue in the book was by a professor. He says " One day I want to hire a batch which is double the current strength. One batch will go thru the standard curriculum and other will spend two years playing basketball, partying and golfing ... and I bet 10 years down the line both batches will have same career path lying ahead and behind of them"

This made me think ( Though my knees hurt )... and I agree to the professor to an extent .. The MBA colleges of repute have such tough admission/selection/rejection procedures that the companies are convinced that the students which are capable of getting thru such process are capable/eligible/intellectual enough to handle the complex and responsible tasks companies expect them to ....

More to write abt the book or may be other books..

sometime later
